I will be photographing new and potential Color Coalition models in the park every day after school next week from 3:30-5:30 to capture shots similar to these:

The Color Coalition club is for children and teens interested in modeling.

(For those who are unfamiliar with how I conduct these types of photoshoots: there is no cost to participate. You will be asked to complete a model release, as some of the best images may be submitted to my agencies for use in advertising and promotion worldwide. In exchange for your time, and for the model release, you will be able to download unlimited free digital negatives that you can have printed at the lab of your choice.)

This event is for:
- new members to the club who have not yet had an opportunity to attend a photoshoot,
- potential new members,
- EXISTING club members who have referred a new member.
- It is also for those models that have photographed with me in the past, who are not yet members of the Color Coalition club but that may be considering membership. (For those unfamiliar with the club: there is no cost for membership, you are notified of upcoming photoshoots, and you can always decide whether or not you want to attend. To join, all you must do is complete a 15 minute online orientation, a model profile, and a membership agreement ).

If you are an existing club member, and have referred someone in the past, my hope is that you will attend this session with them….even if they have not yet completed the orientation.  If you have not yet referred a member, but know someone who is interested, please consider bringing them to one of these sessions. They can complete the orientation at a later date. Both you and the new potential model will be able to participate.

If you have been considering free membership in The Color Coalition modeling club, but have not yet taken the online orientation and completed the paperwork, I invite you to schedule one of these photo sessions next week, and then decide afterward whether you want to take the next steps to join. Again, membership in the club is free.

I will be shooting at different locations each day, Including:

Shawnee Mission Park
Overland Park Arboretum
Gehzer Park in Leawood
Loose Park

If you are interested, please email me,  indicating your preferred day and which times you would be available. Also, please indicate which part of town you will be driving from. I will schedule models, in their preferred times, on a first come-first served basis. I will also try to group models from the same general location, and choose a park in that area. If you are able to attend between 3:30 and 4:00, you will be given preference, as I’m anticipating these earlier  times will be hard to fill.  Sessions will be short and will be scheduled in 10-20 minute increments.

Note members of the Color Coalition club: we are really in need of some guys (ages 15-18). If you know of anyone who might be interested, or who would want to attend this photoshoot so see if they might be interested, please invite them!!

Continue reading »]]> With today’s temperatures expected to hover somewhere around 105 degrees, I thought you might enjoy thinking for a minute about some snow!

We will be doing a fun impromptu shoot at some point this winter for models that have solid colored coats with no logos. I will be providing hats, gloves, scarves, etc. Of course this is off into the future a bit, and we won’t have a set date until we know what the forecast for snow is….

But, as you do your school and winter coat shopping in the months to come, you may keep this shoot and the wardrobe requirements in mind!

Continue reading »]]> I’m sure you’ve noticed that in this fast paced world, communication in all forms has really ramped up in the last decade. Hundreds of images, slogans, concepts and ideas race by us every day.  Sometimes the best messages, the ones that need to be communicated, are lost in the confusion. But, sometimes an idea or a message will stand out above the the others, and stay with us for a time. What if you had the power to help people notice the positive messages more often? Would you act on it?

Strong imagery can help to properly illustrate a message or an idea, and help it to stand out above the rest. One of the main goals of the Color Coalition is to create this kind of imagery — photographs that can assist positive messages take flight. We believe that what we do can help change the world for the better. And, that we can make a difference….one image at a time.

Continue reading »]]> The Color Coalition Photo and Modeling Club in Kansas City is a place where youth, ages 4-18, can get together and make friends while they learn about photography and modeling. It allows members to participate in fun photoshoots several times per year so that they can try modeling to see if it is for them. All the while they are building confidence, gaining experience in front of the camera, and getting better at what they do!

Membership dues are currently being waived in exchange for model released participation in photoshoots.

If you live within 100 miles of the Greater Kansas City area, and your child is between the ages of 4 and 18, and would like to give modeling a try, then consider enrolling them in the Color Coalition Photo and Modeling Club!

The Color Coalition Photo and Modeling Club is a great way for your youth, ages 4-18, to try modeling to see if it is for them, to gain experience and get better at what they do, to make friends, and to possibly see themselves in print or on television.

The goal of the Color Coalition Photo and Modeling Club is to offer every member a chance to participate in several photoshoots and/or photography workshops throughout the year. The photoshoots will require a model release, as the best images will be test marketed through industry leading stock agencies. The best news is that through June of 2011, in exchange for your child’s modeling time, and the completed releases, monthly club membership dues are waived. So, there is no cost for your child to participate in the club, although you will have the ability to purchase discounted prints, comp cards, club merchandise and tickets to specialty workshops.

You’ll need to complete the online orientation process before you can begin. The first step is to complete a registration form. Once received, we’ll email you instructions for viewing the online orientation.
